The Best Kid’s Bible I Have Found: The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name

Duolingo: I am SO DISAPPOINTED that Duolingo, one of the best apps out there, does not offer an option to turn off LGBTIQA+ references in their platform (e.g., stories, language, characters). I think this is a silly business decision. Why not present yourself in a way that people with different values can still enjoy—and purchase for the plus version—your product? Of course, from their view, they want to take a stand for what they deem right. For now, my wife and I have to decide what to do moving forward. Using it will require conversations with our kiddos that we do not want to have yet. We are not afraid to have conversations, but I do think there is a “too young” status. Why introduce them to complexities too early? I think it is unwise and irresponsible unless it absolutely can’t be avoided. So, in a nutshell, I am angry that this product may not be suitable for our kiddos since we care deeply about what beliefs and values are being both explicitly and implicitly instilled. Of course, if they were a bit older, we could use the product and then use the content to talk about a biblical worldview, a biblical view of specific issues, etc. So, each Christian parent must decide when that time is. But there is a “too young” in my opinion. Parents can try to be relevant and “cutting-edge” when they are really only being foolish with the moral and spiritual formation of their children.
