Daily Post #131

Wisdom From My Pastor: Thank God for praying and wise pastors. We attend Diamondhead Community Church. We call our pastor “Pastor Jason.” Two weeks ago he shared something during his message that really got my attention. It has been two weeks and I can’t forget it. I have learned in my personal walk with the Lord that one of the main ways that he speaks to me is by putting a thought into my mind that grows over time. In the last few days, Pastor Jason’s words are all that I can think about: “There are no small roles; only small people.” This could be taken the wrong way, but his main point was to say that we often determine our output based on whether we think the role is important. If we don’t like our role or think that we should have a different one, then we don’t give our best. But is this the response of a person with character (integrity, to be more specific)? A person of character gives the same no matter what. The role does not define the person; the person defines the role. This is easy to say but often more difficult to life out. Yet, it is the truth. There are no small roles, but only people that do not have the character and vision to give their best in that role no matter what they might feel about that role at any given moment on any given day. Paul writes: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Col. 3:23 NIV).

ChatGPT: I am constantly impressed by ChatGPT and its range of positive uses (of course you can focus on the negative if you desire). One positive use is in preparing for a job interview. You can ask it a range of questions, have it interact with you in a particular role, refresh on key authors, etc.
