Daily Post #28 (Consider Supporting Our Friends)

This is a special post about my friends. When working on my PhD in Edinburgh, I was assigned to a study room where I was given my own desk to work from for the duration of my doctorate. It “just so happened” (God’s providence) to be in a room with a Richard Brash (I will write about another missionary friend in the next few months). Our family ate with his family in Edinburgh and a friendship was struck! He has become a close friend and we chat via Zoom for an hour each month. After completing his doctorate, he and his family returned to Japan where they now serve the Lord faithfully.

Richard and Yuko Brash (with their children Kaz and Isla) serve on the missions team at Christ Bible Institute (CBI) in Nagoya, Japan. Richard teaches in Christ Bible Seminary, helping to train the next generation of leaders. Yuko works on translation and editing projects of gospel resources, many of which CBI distributes free of charge. If you’d like to sign up to receive the Brashes’ monthly email newsletter, you can do so by following this link: https://www.jclglobal.org/brashes. You can also get to the gift page where gifts may be made online by credit card by clicking on the red box “Partner with Richard and Yuko financially” on the same webpage.

I sincerely hope that you will consider any and ALL of the following:

  1. Signing up for their monthly email (it is always a fun and interesting read!)
  2. Praying for them
  3. Giving financially to them. Whether a one-off gift or a monthly commitment, it is no small thing to play a part in the Gospel going forward in another nation.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matt. 28:18–20).
