Preface to My New Book for Non-Christians

I have finally started a book that I have wanted to write for a long time. I think I am going to call it: Christianity in Simple Terms. I often find that I am not very good at sharing my faith, and that really bothers me. For the past few years, I have wanted to write something and self-publish it so I can offer it for 99 cents.

The goal is simple: present Christianity in clear, straightforward terms, without a lot of jargon. It will be short, easy to read, and easy to share. At 99 cents, it can be gifted to family and friends—or even shared with someone you just met (with their email, you can “gift” it to them). It’s not saturated with Scripture references, but it does aim to faithfully present the truth found in Scripture.

Yesterday I wrote the Preface and the first chapter (“Beginning”), and I’m really excited about it. In many ways, it’s a modern version of a tract or pamphlet. The writing is coming easily, which I sometimes interpret as: “It is time to write this book.”

I’m also trying to write it in a way that we would feel comfortable sharing with someone in our current moment—one that is, in many ways, becoming more and more post-Christian. I pray that it is a blessing, and I hope some of you will check it out and share it with others if you find it worthwhile.

If interested, click here to read the Preface (the first draft). If you like what you read, please start sharing now. Thanks!

I estimate that I will be finished writing the book by the end of June at the latest.
