Daily Post #69

Mental Illness: Just because some mental illnesses have a biological/biochemical root doesn’t mean that they all do. How can one read the New Testament, especially the four Gospels, and think any differently? The biopsychosocial model of psychology that dominates modern, scientific psychology neither tells the whole story nor addresses the entire person.

God Still Does Big Things: In a moment, God can bless you with something or take away something that you have desired for years. Don’t give up. What might God have around the corner that you will only experience if you don’t give up? Think about it. What is around the corner is not something that can be seen with the natural eye, but it can be held in faith. This is easier said than done, right? Yes, it is. But what is governing my thinking? Is God’s truth on the throne of my mind and heart? It better be; if it is not, then my emotional and spiritual life is most likely out of whack (this is putting it nicely).

Life Insurance? Have you thought about life insurance? Dave Ramsay is very helpful in thinking about this issue. Do I get whole or term life insurance? How much? And which companies can I trust? All of the questions and more are answered here. Also, you can actually apply for term life insurance from Dave Ramsay’s website. His team has vetted several companies, so you can fill out an application and then receive a list of companies that his team has already checked out.

Family Bible Verse: Right now we are reading, memorizing, and discussing Psalm 34:8: “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one that takes refuge in Him” (NIV).
